PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological diagnoses (epilepsy, stroke, MS, Guillain-Barre, myasthenia gravis, traumatic brain injury)

deliver neuro stepdown care

Perform blood product administration, phlebotomy, and IV therapy

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services)

Document and chart patient care using EPIC EMR

Maintain strict isolation precautions and infection control protocols

Float to other nursing units within the OSU healthcare system as needed

PCU RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or Ohio state RN license required at submission)

Minimum 2 years of recent experience in PCU, Progressive Care, or Med-Surg nursing

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required for PCU nursing jobs)

Proficient with EPIC charting system

Previous travel nurse experience preferred

Ability to float to various units within the healthcare organization

Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions considered)

Two professional references (one from a manager, director, or charge RN)
