Intensive In- Home Counselor (QMHP-C or T Registration Required- Resident PREFERRED)
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Counselors are responsible for a variety of counseling and educational services within the home and community setting. Counselors are also required to develop, coordinate, and implement the treatment goals and objectives of each client, to include ensuring all objectives, goals, and deficiencies are documented and reported accurately and in compliance with organizational policies and guidelines. Counselors will facilitate clients support groups as needed as well as build partnerships with other community organizations.
Acts as the liaison between family, referring agencies, and other community organizations.
Maintains case records and documents services rendered
Maintains a high degree of professionalism in the community with clients and with referring agencies seeking to build and maintain positive relationships
Assists in providing individual and family counseling services to clients in the home and community setting
Registered with The Virginia Board of Counseling as Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-C or T)

Training’s/Certifications:

CPR/FIRST AID

Medication Training
Restraint Training Techniques
Accessible by phone 24 hours a day / 7 days per week/ 365 days a week
Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and one year successful work experience providing mental health services to youths ages 4-20 with behavioral issues and developmental disabilities. QMHP-C or T Registration Required with the VA Board of Counseling. Resident PREFERRED.
