Hospital Phlebotomist Team Lead

Responsibilities Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy duties.

Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites.

Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor.

Perform site inspections regularly and accurately report all findings.

Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed.

Complete new‑hire and annual competency assessments when necessary.

Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels, and information logs.

Address customer‑service related issues promptly and respectfully.

Review daily/weekly schedules with the supervisor and make adjustments as needed.

Promote teamwork, cohesiveness, and effective communication among coworkers.

Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as required.

Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications 2 years or more experience as a phlebotomist.

2 years or more experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital setting.

Phlebotomy certification or completion of approved training.

Job Standards License requirement may be satisfied by filing a phlebotomy license application with the CA Department of Health at time of hire.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with reliable transportation.

At least 21 years of age.

In‑depth knowledge of phlebotomy duties, responsibilities, and techniques.

Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Agility in working under minimal supervision.

Ability to pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
