High School Lead Teacher

Job Overview LAUNCH Lead Teacher - Georgia Digital School (GDS). Required Georgia Teaching Certificate and residency. Start date: ASAP. This role is home‑based.
Responsibilities Member of the school leadership team.
Directs and supervises the daily learning process and mentors Virtual Academy teachers, providing coaching and performance expectations.
Provides instruction to teachers, sets and enforces deadlines, maintains regular office hours, and facilitates a learning laboratory to model instructional practice.
Develops expert knowledge of the full K12 curriculum for assigned grade levels and provides support to achieve student mastery of state standards.
Ensures course content meets standards mastery and is optimized for depth of knowledge using asynchronous and synchronous tools.
Assumes ownership for students’ academic progress and attendance, communicates high expectations, and prescribes daily actions with clear deadlines.
Establishes and maintains rapport with families and teachers, conducts data‑driven conferences, and supports teachers with curricular, instructional, and operational challenges.
Manages school operations tasks such as recruiting/interviewing teaching candidates, training new teachers, implementing teacher evaluation processes, managing student-teacher matching, maintaining uniform teaching procedures, developing policies, coordinating testing readiness, and addressing attendance and progress issues.
Prepares regular reports, facilitates communications among stakeholders, and assists with marketing events.
Other Duties & Responsibilities Supports ongoing development, implementation, and refinement of all teaching and learning policies.
Helps develop a data‑driven program design aligned with the K12 curriculum.
Collaborates with peers to provide a positive experience for students.
Promotes professional development through data‑driven instruction.
Disseminates best practices in the virtual school setting.
Plans, facilitates, and evaluates data‑driven professional learning activities.
Provides strategic liaison among families, teachers, and the administration team.
Speaks in meetings and leads department/team meetings.
Participates in professional development sessions.
Maintains student records, prepares reports, and ensures compliance with state requirements.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in education or related field; three (3) years of successful teaching experience, including experience as a virtual teacher; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Required Qualifications: Knowledge of state and charter school law and regulations.
Knowledge of state performance standards.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to gain reciprocity.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; able to learn specific student management system(s).
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for training, professional development, and meetings.
Ability to pass the required background check.

Work Environment This is a home‑based position. Travel up to 25% may be required.
