Caregiver (Personal Care) Part-Time

Job Description Direct Support Professional (DSP) PART-TIMEMake a Difference. At OPPO, our Direct Support Professionals are at the heart of what we do .
You’ll work directly with people with disabilities, helping them build greater independence, develop meaningful life skills, connect with their communities, and enjoy the everyday experiences many of us take for granted.
Depending on the program, you may support individuals in their homes or out in the community . You’ll follow individualized care plans while helping create the safe, happy, and healthy OPPOrtunities our clients deserve.
Provide active supervision and meaningful engagement based on each client’s individual care plan.
Help clients develop social, physical, emotional, and independent-living skills .
Support activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, restroom needs, eating, and other personal-care needs.
Help clients participate in activities, outings, appointments, and community experiences..
Recognize and communicate changes in a client’s needs or level of care.
Communicate clearly and promptly with Team Leads and other members of the client care team.
Complete required training and compliance requirements, including Huddles, SOAR, and CPR.
Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to work for every scheduled shift.
Maintain a positive, professional attitude with clients, families, coworkers, and community partners.
Help create an environment where the safety, happiness, and health of both clients and employees come first.
Experience caring for or supporting people with disabilities.

Remain alert, attentive, and engaged throughout your shift.
Work effectively in active environments that may include large groups, high-energy situations, elopement risks, emotional escalation, aggression, or other challenging behaviors.
Work respectfully and collaboratively with the entire client care team.
Safely assisting with client transfers and using mechanical lifts when required.
Working in homes or environments where cats, dogs, or other pets may be present. Reasonable accommodation may be available for qualifying medical needs.
Safely assisting and supervising clients in a variety of home and community environments.
