Maintenance and Repair Tech - Immediate Hire

Safety-Kleen Systems, in Metairie, LA, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our safety-conscious team. This team member will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all company equipment and tooling within the facility.

Pay, schedule, and testing requirements are governed by the union contract.

Performs preventative maintenance, conducts inspections, troubleshoots, diagnoses failures and deficiencies, and performs necessary corrections.

Completes and maintains all service, parts/inventory records in a timely and accurate manner.

Completes daily checklists as required for proper operation of maintenance being performed.

Ensures daily maintenance duties are performed and communicates any problems or issues with the unit immediately upon discovery.

Reviews all applicable SOPs, and completes mandatory Company and job-specific training.

Conducts safety checks and annual inspections.

Fabricating, welding, modifications, pump and piping installs.

Performs maintenance functions, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical work.

Maintains plant equipment through Preventative Maintenance Management systems and ensures proper preventive maintenance of all plant equipment, stationary and mobile.

Assembles components and parts as required by manufacturers.

Operates a forklift and various heavy equipment, when necessary, to assist in diagnosis.

Other duties as assigned and travel to local locations as needed (e.g., 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a plant or industrial environment preferred.

Plant maintenance experience in mechanical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, pneumatics, and installations.

Small packaging, canning or bottling maintenance experience is a plus.

centrifugal and diaphragm pumps are an asset.
