Caregiver/ Direct Support Professional (DSP) (Flexible shifts)

This role is perfect for emotionally mature professionals who are passionate about supporting people living with developmental disabilities. As a DSP, youll be able to end every workday knowing youve made a positive difference in the lives of those you serve. pulliProvide direct service care as required/liliAssist consumers with implementing their Individual Treatment Plan in their homes, community and other environments/liliHelp consumers with crisis situations involving supervisors and clinical staff as needed/required/liliAssist consumers with the administration and training of medications taking direct orders from certified medical personnel/liliMake sure that the home is a safe and clean environment, i.e. assisting in emergency drills, checking safety equipment/liliAssist consumers in purchasing and preparing food and other items as needed for them in their home/liliTransport consumers in agency vehicles to appointments and activities in the community as outlined in their Treatment Plan/liliHelp consumers to participate in the design of the array of community support services tailored to their needs/liliMaintain sensitivity to the service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics./liliBe responsible for staying updated on changes in consumers treatment plans, medications and overall care/li/ulpAdministrative Duties:/pulliFollow policies and procedures of the CILA Site and Caritas Family Solutions/liliFollow and implement all medication procedures as assigned/liliParticipate in the planning of consumers Individual Treatment Plan/liliDo related progress notes per the goals assigned to you for billing purposes and provide all the services indicated in the treatment plan and all other documentation necessary in a timely manner/liliProvide necessary information regarding consumer care to site manager and/or appropriate staff in a timely manner/li/ulpTraining And Job Requirements:/pulliMeet with CILA Site Manager monthly at scheduled site meetings to assist with consumer monitoring and planning/liliAttend full CSN trainings quarterly to stay updated on consumer care and/or changes affecting CSN and Caritas Family Solutions/liliSuccessfully complete all required certifications of CSN, HSS and the State of Illinois that relate to your position as scheduled/liliAttend trainings outside required monthly trainings that relate to your position as mutually agreed upon/li/ulpPhysical Requirements:/pulliMust be 18 years of age/liliMust have valid drivers license/liliHave adequate transportation to be able to move from site to site/liliAbility to drive a regular size and larger size van or willing to be trained/liliDrive in large cities/liliPresent High School diploma or GED/liliAble to lift 50 pounds and walk flights of stairs/liliHave normal or corrective eyewear and hearing devices/liliHave clarity of speech to be understood/liliGood hearing/liliConstitution to handle body excrements/liliMust be emotionally stable enough to react appropriately to a consumer in crisis/li/ulpOther:/pulliBe available to fill shifts as needed/liliSuccessfully complete orientation program/liliAble to provide basic living skills to adults/liliWork within agency structure and accept supervision/liliWork constructively using team approach with peers/liliWork with providers in the community/liliMust feel confident to report abuse and neglect of consumers/staff to supervisor/liliMust be flexible and open-minded/liliDo other duties as assigned and/or as mutually agreed upon/li/ul/div
