Protection & Control Engineer (Substation Design)

As a Protection & Control Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and maintaining the systems that keep the power flowing safely and reliably:

Specify and apply substation equipment (e.g., breakers, transformers, relay panels, capacitor/reactor banks, grounding systems)
Analyze system data (voltage, impedance, ampacity, CT ratios, relay settings) to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory bodies (SPP, NERC, FERC)
Develop project scopes, budgets, and cost estimates to support multi-year capital planning
Support field teams with troubleshooting, testing, failure analysis, and system improvements
Guide and mentor designers and technicians, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
Experience in substation engineering, protection & control, or power delivery systems
Electrical schematics, wiring, and logic diagrams
Working knowledge of SCADA systems and AutoCAD (or similar tools)
