Facilities Technician
The Facilities Technician is responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading facility systems and equipment; providing necessary information on the proper uses of the equipment; ensuring adequate materials are available to complete assignments in a timely manner, and directing assigned workers.
Act as the primary contact for school personnel for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs)
Monitor/assist contractor and outside vendor performance to ensure work is completed according to specifications
Independently perform routine scheduled preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment
May act as the project coordinator for small construction and repair projects
Assist with maintaining building security and immediately respond to building emergencies on an as-needed basis
Monitor, replace and obtain light bulbs in all assigned facilities
Perform basic electrical work and determine when an electrician is required
Hang pictures, whiteboards and dismantle/install furniture as needed
Transport goods or equipment as assigned
Perform routine quality control inspections of janitorial and landscaping subcontractors to ensure the property is maintained properly
Assist the Operations Manager in preparing the annual maintenance budget
High School diploma or GED
may be required to work outdoors 95% of the time and exposed to the elements and inclement weather
Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally
Experience in general construction along with a mechanical aptitude
Good written and oral communication skills in English
Ability to thrive in academic entrepreneurial culture and interact with all levels of management, staff, students and their families.
Possess adequate computer skills utilizing MS Office Suite applications and the ability to use all functions of a smartphone

May be required to move or position equipment up to 50 pounds approximately.
