Reporting/Department Head: Dental Director (Chief Dental Officer)

To provide friendly, professional, and high-quality dental hygiene care to CompleteCare patients within a team-based, patient-centered dental home model of care. Reports to Chief Dental Officer.

Identifies patients and reviews medical history

Performs Full mouth debridement, Scaling and root planning, child prophylaxis, adult prophylaxis, dental sealants, and fluoride treatment

Administration of local anesthesia

Records procedures completed, updating medical history, and complying with HIPAA,

Fills hygiene postcard

Sets the date of next periodic oral exam in the computer

Provides Oral hygiene instructions

Participates in ordering supplies for dental hygiene with dental team leader

Cleans and sterilizes instruments used for dental hygiene as outlined by OSHA and CDC guidelines

Disinfects dental chair

Helps in taking dental X-rays as needed

Reduces risk of nosocomial infections in patients, employees, and visitors.

Contributes to Improving Organizational Performance Activities

Interacts with all other departments to achieve health center mission

Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize tasksAssumes personal responsibility for ongoing professional growth and development

Participates in department planning activities, as requested

Participates in health center committees, as assigned

Current NJ Dental hygiene License from New Jersey State Board of Dentistry.
