RN Weekend Night Day Shift

Registered Nurse

This is a medical surgical nursing position focused on burn reconstruction. The unit accommodates adult burn, plastic surgery, and pediatric trauma and burns. The average daily census for this unit is 22 patients. The nurse to patient ratios are 3-4:1 during day shifts and 4-5:1 during night shifts. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Candidates will have access to a wound care RN to assist in tank rooms during the 8-hour day shifts. Special procedures include anesthesia-assisted techniques for pain management during wound care. Monitoring of EtCO2 levels will be conducted for specific patients. Charting will be done using the EPIC system. Candidates should have a strong medical-surgical background. Floating among different acute care floors may be required based on facility needs. Additional specialized skills such as wound care, managing tracheostomy patients, and IV maintenance are needed. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in trauma and burn care.
