Food Runner (Part-time) (Food Services)

As an Expeditor, you are responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of food from the kitchen to the dining area. You will be responsible for coordinating the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring that they meet quality standards, and delivering them promptly to guests. Your role is crucial in maintaining a smooth operation in the kitchen and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Reporting Structure
~ Reports to the Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef or Executive Chef

Coordinate with kitchen staff to manage the timing and presentation of dishes according to the order tickets.
Check each dish for quality, portioning, and presentation before it leaves the kitchen.
Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless coordination between the kitchen and dining areas.
Monitor the quality of food being prepared, ensuring it meets the club’s standards for taste, appearance, temperature and portion size.
Address and resolve any issues with food quality or presentation promptly, working with the kitchen team to make necessary adjustments.
Keep the expediting area organized and clean, ensuring that all necessary tools and equipment are readily available.
Assist with maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas as needed.
Maintain clear and effective communication with chefs, cooks, and servers to ensure efficient service.
Assist in training new kitchen and service staff on expediting procedures and quality standards.
Address and resolve member and guest complaints professionally, notifying management of issues and practicing effective service recovery.
Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role.
Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations.
Wear a clean, neat uniform that meets club standards.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality and presentation standards.
Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods.
Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments, with potential exposure to dust, fumes, or gases.
Effective communication skills, including talking and hearing, with sufficient visual acuity.
Primary Tools/Equipment
Kitchen knives (1-5 lbs.)
Pots, pans, and other food storage containers (5 - 50 lbs.)
Additional hours are required to meet deadlines of the position, including weekends and/or holidays.
