Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a fast-paced 49-bed cardiac specialty unit, including care for cardiovascular, heart and lung transplant, and Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) patients
Manage and monitor IV drips as required across all floors
Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records system
Float to other units within scope of practice to meet facility staffing needs, including potential float to an additional campus
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and LPNs where assigned
Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period and working 2 of 3 major holidays
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending Nebraska RN state license accepted; if not in hand at time of submission, start date will be booked six weeks out)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Demonstrated experience managing IV drips
Proficiency with EPIC charting system
Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
NIH Stroke Scale certification
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
Experience at a Level I Academic Medical Center (required for first-time travelers to be considered)
