Psychiatrist
Reports to: Medical Director
Program: 1300- Integrated Care
Status: Full-time/Exempt/Non-Management

Summary: The Psychiatrist will be responsible for assessing patients, diagnosing or ruling out mental disorders, prescribing treatments, documenting encounters and services, and conducting regular follow-up appointments to monitor the clients' progress.
Develops treatment plans by determining the nature and extent of psychiatric disorders and establishing treatment goals and methodologies, including prescription of psychotropic medications.
reviewing medical history and related documents; and monitoring effect of medications.
Maintains interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress, and consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other health care providers.
Assures quality and safe service for clients and staff by participating in utilization reviews; and remaining available for emergency consultations.
Maintains historical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events and writing summaries.
Completes communications and forms in regards to client cases as necessary by social services and other pertinent agencies.
Updates job knowledge by participating in continuing medical educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Completion of a psychiatry residency or a combined family medicine/psychiatry residency in an ACGME-approved residency program
Current BC/BE in Psychiatry (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology)
Valid state Medical license as MD/DO
Strong understanding of advocacy and the role it plays in mental health
Detail-oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills
Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal and team building skills
Able to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certification
Knowledge and experience in chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment
Minimum 30 WPM typing speed
Bilingual Spanish
Combination of field and office environment
On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
