Position DescriptionReporting to the Materials Director, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for the strategic management of the purchasing and supply chain function. The ideal candidate will exercise their analytical skills, in tandem with a high attention to detail to ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained. Leaning into their problem-solving and solutions-oriented approach, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for leveraging data to inform decisions and optimize processes for the Supply Chain Department. The ideal candidate will utilize their strong communication skills to build supplier relationships while effectively negotiating optimal terms, pricing and contracts to achieve cost savings and improve performance. The Procurement Specialist thrives in a fast-paced work environment, collaborating with various departments across the organization to contribute to strategic initiatives, like cost reduction, process improvement, and to ensure a timely delivery of products to our customers.ResponsibilitiesTrack orders, resolve inquiries, and communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders, to ensure on-time delivery of products; collaborating to expedite delivery where neededAnalyze inventory and prepare purchase orders in ERP System (Epicor/P21) to maintain adequate stock levels for customer needs through research into our inventory system, demand trends, lead times, and past purchase ordersIdentify slow-moving and unproductive inventory and work with the Sales team to liquidate inventory, as neededPerform data analytics to assess accurate min/max inventory settings, re-order point levels, safety stock levels, and forecast accuracyParticipate in monthly SIOP process and provide insights into customer/ supplier trendsLeverage Power BI to report on various performance metrics and KPIsCreate and maintain updated data in the company ERP system, including current costs and pending purchase orders, and delivery datesPartner with the Quality & Engineering departments and vendors to ensure purchased items meet specific quality standards, and take action to resolve any discrepanciesReview and reconcile any variances between purchase orders and invoices to ensure accuracy, while maintaining product availability at or above targeted levelsQualificationsAssociates or Bachelor's degree in a related field of study, or 5+ years of hands-on procurement experience3+ years of experience working in procurementProficient with ERP Systems (Epicor/P21) and data analytics tools (Power BI, Web Query)Proficient with MS Excel, MS PPT and other MS Office Suite toolsThe ability to travel up to 10%Preferred QualificationsExperience working in the bearings or power mechanical transmission (MPT) industryLEAN/ Process improvement experienceInternational procurement experienceAPICS certificationOur Employee Value PropositionMarket competitive benefits package, including company-sponsored health coverage, life insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, paid parental leave and paid time offWork in a collaborative environment with passionate and innovative teammatesSolve is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination or harassment of any kind.
