Bonus - This position is eligible for a 3% annual incentive bonus based on cooperative and individual performance.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance of the facilities processing equipment, boilers, chiller refrigeration, HVAC, wastewater treatment, building and grounds. This role is also responsible for assisting the Maintenance Lead and Manager with projects, troubleshooting issues, ensuring preventative maintenance (PM)’s, workorders (WO), work request (WR) are documented correctly, completed and passed on for verification. This position promotes collaboration and teamwork within the Maintenance Department. This role is people and food safety sensitive.

Perform maintenance on stainless equipment, including welding preferred.

Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to complete PM’s, WO’s and WR’s generated daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually, by hours and 2-year timely and properly per the instructions.

Monitor and assist with routine maintenance on various pumps and valves within the creamery.

Assist with routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Perform electrical maintenance, as appropriate for ability under direction of Lead or Manager.

Request for parts and supplies needed in written form via email or through CMMS.

Perform general carpentry in compliance with building codes, FDA and USDA standards.

Operation and manage wastewater Dissolved Air Filtration system to be in compliance within the wastewater discharge permit.

Follow safety, quality assurance and other company policies and practices required as an employee of this company.

Assist the Maintenance Manager or Lead with selecting contract help for equipment, electrical and building repair, as needed.

Two-year technical degree in maintenance trade or at least three years of experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance preferred.

Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 60 lbs, occasional lift up to 80 lbs with assistance, and ability to push/pull objects up to 2500 lbs using material handling devices. Ability to frequently bend, twist/turn, reach above shoulders, and climb throughout shift as needed.

Ability to work in an environment that includes: confined spaces, chemicals, hot spaces, noisy spaces, and working at heights with the appropriate personal protective equipment.

Experience with operating Powered Industrial Equipment: forklifts, scissor lift, boom lift and associated fall equipment.

Knowledge of ladder logic computer controls preferred.

Experience and knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance in a production/manufacturing environment preferred.

Basic computer skills required, with experience in Microsoft suite, data entry and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Ability to work holidays, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Understanding of Pasteurize Milk Ordinance & Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) preferred.

Experience with boiler, HVAC, refrigeration, process equipment, VFD’s maintenance and repair preferred.

Knowledge of Pasteurize Milk Ordinance (PMO) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) preferred.

Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical codes and regulatory standards preferred.

Base hourly wage range: $The typical hourly wage for a new hire with little or no experience is $24.68. This position also receives a $2.00 per hour shift premium between the hours of 6pm and 12am, a $3.00 per hour shift premium between the hours of 12am and 6am, and a $2.00 per hour shift premium on Saturdays and Sundays. This hourly wage range is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses.
