Respiratory Therapist - Ascension Saint Joseph, Chicago, IL.

Facility: Department: Respiratory Care

Rotating shift, 24/7, on call (PRN)

Salary Range: $41.00 - $43.00 per hour

Implement patient care plans, continuously monitor patient response and respiratory equipment, and perform advanced respiratory care modalities.

Accurately document patient conditions and communicate changes to the healthcare team.

Evaluate respiratory practice, medication administration, and treatment effectiveness based on defined patient outcomes.

Respond promptly to emergency resuscitation team code calls.

Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained within 4 months of hire. Must submit receipt of payment for IDFPR application.

Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (preferred). New graduates must provide proof of passing entry‑level exam.

High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, OR associate’s degree/technical degree, OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job‑specific experience.

1 year work experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist strongly preferred.
