Nurse Educator, Nursing Education, Full Time

The Clinical Educator - RN is a clinical professional who actively participates in designing, implementing, and overseeing therapeutic programs within a healthcare setting, often by conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, training other nursing staff, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the program effectively addresses specific patient needs and goals, while also contributing to ongoing program evaluation and improvement.

Essential Duties Assist the CNO by actively participating in the development of new nursing programs, including defining program goals, selecting interventions, and creating program structure and protocols

Develops orientation and educational goals and objectives set forth by the CEO and Director of Compliance to accomplish missions within the established parameters, goals and objectives

Reviews and updates new hire training to ensure clinical staff are prepared to work independently

Training and supervising other nursing staff on program implementation, ensuring fidelity to the program design and quality of care

Collecting and analyzing data to monitor patient progress, evaluate program effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement

Specialization in areas includes, mental health programs, developmental disabilities, pediatric therapy, and geriatric therapy

Provides clinical services orientation instruction, reeducation, competency, and refresher training to applicable staff

Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients to identify their needs, strengths, and areas for improvement, informing nursing staff on milieu management improvements

Ensures nursing staff are designing individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based practices and specific therapeutic interventions

Ensures nursing staff are providing direct therapeutic interventions to patients, including de-escalation, proper restraint and seclusions, and administering medication as appropriate

Assists patients and caregivers with educational needs, problem resolution, and health management across the continuum of care

Working closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and other therapists, to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes

Ensures compliance with quality assurance, safety, infection control, and environmental procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements

Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards

Performs other duties as requested or assigned

Requirements Job Requirements

Education and/or Licensure - Bachelor's degree required. Licensed RN authorized to practice in in the State of Texas. CPR and SAMA (or obtained within 30 days upon hire).

Experience - Three (3) years of progressively responsible full-time positions as a licensed RN. Three (3) years of acute psychiatric care experience desired. Must be 21 years old or older.
