Position: Infusion Nurse, Clinical Research located in Georgetown, TX
Job Summary:
Demonstrate proficient infusion skills. Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment. Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician. Determines appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter site. Observes patients' IV treatment and records observations in patient medical records. Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
Be a licensed nurse, with a current license.
Minimum of one year of infusion nursing experience.
GCP certified for research purposes in infusions. Can attain after hired.
Work positively and favorably with patients, families, and staff.
Responsibilities/essential functions:
The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Perform the infusion therapy as directed by physician orders.
Establish intravenous access per policy and procedure.
Observe, assess, and document symptoms via nurses note timely.
Monitor reactions and patient progress.
Educate patients and/or caregivers on disease processes, medications, side effects/risks.
Schedule follow up appointment for next therapy.
Notify the physician and other personnel (CEO) of change in the patient's condition.
Perform skill outline in the agency's approved policy and procedure manual.
Update clinical records according to policy and procedures.
Update knowledge and skills by attending in-service programs, continuing education programs, seminars, and self-study programs annually.
Perform inventory count before and after clinic daily, communicate needs to View email address on click.appcast.io
Communicate supply needs prn to View email address on click.appcast.io
Adhere to safe nursing practice standards.
Maintain professionalism with patient and client staff.
Obtain satisfaction surveys from patients prn.
Collect co-pays as required.
Call no-show patients prn.
Be knowledgeable about medications to be administered.Reference RxTool Kit.
Mix medication per policy and procedure (never before pt arrival).
Adhere to Medicaid and Medicare regulations.
Clinical Research.
