The Electrical Engineer/PLC Programmer is responsible for the design, programming, and implementation of electrical and control systems for explosion‑proof and mission‑critical HVAC systems. This position requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC controls, PLC logic, and hazardous environment compliance. Responsibilities Design, develop, and program PLC systems from concept to completion.
Create and modify electrical power and control circuit designs (AC/DC).
Design and implement HVAC sequences of operation tailored for explosion‑proof systems.
Develop, test, and commission PLC and HMI systems for custom HVAC solutions.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
Troubleshoot and optimize control systems during installation and after commissioning.
Prepare engineering drawings, submittal data, and supporting documentation.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with mechanical, manufacturing, and field service teams to ensure design alignment.
Maintain detailed records of projects, revisions, and control logic changes.
Provide technical support and training to internal teams as needed.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (BSEE or BSME required).
Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in HVAC, controls, or industrial manufacturing.
Strong understanding of ASHRAE standards and NEC requirements, Electrical and Mechanical codes for hazardous areas, NFPA 496, IEC, and ATEX standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell Automation platforms and Connected Components Workbench preferred.
