Welder I - Weekend Shift

Structural Welder

Current Shift time: 5:00pm-3:30am Monday-Thursday (NOTE: Currently working mandatory 12 hour shifts Monday - Thursday)

Independently performs moderate to complex welding activities, including hand welding and material handling equipment

Welds metal parts on fixtures including attaching jigs and clamps to hold metal parts in proper position

Determines type and gauge of steel to be welded making appropriate heat adjustments, as required, on large thickness variations

Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels, as well as correct components installed on the finished product

Assume responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment

Maintains a clean work area and general housekeeping standards, such as care for assigned tools and proper disposal of hazardous waste

Understands and practices established safety and quality standard procedures, including utilization of chemical solutions to clean containers

May be required to perform mass spec and visual inspections meeting stringent visual requirements

Performs other duties as assigned (Examples include - helping to mix paint or insulating a tank).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. Minimum 3 years TIG welding experience

Experience interpreting blueprints and bill of materials (BOM)

Self-starter capable of managing workload under minimal direction and supervision

Overtime and weekend hours, as needed

High school diploma or equivalent
