RN - Pain Management PRN

Presbyterian Rust is hiring a Pain Management RN PRN.

Presbyterian Rust Medical Center ASC is a fast paced ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.

Provides direct nursing care to patients by performing the following duties. Prepares patients for surgery/procedure by providing peri-operative and post-operative instructions. Understands and interprets physician's orders, lab values, EKG''s and x-ray reports. Documents patients'' medical histories, including allergies.

Provides prescribed medications and other pharmaceutical products in accordance with physician's orders. Initiates safe practices and is knowledgeable about current center policies and procedures. Specific procedures and practices related to conscious sedation when required, pain management assessment and identification, abuse and neglect, sentinel events and response, variance reporting, response to sentinel event alerts, participation in root cause analysis and other key policies and procedures is required.

Implements safe practices and provides knowledgeable guidance and evaluation of the environment of care management including life safety (fire prevention), security, hazardous materials and waste management, emergency preparedness, infection control, and the safe use of medical equipment and utilities

Provides assessment of patient positioning, and assessments of physical, mental, pain and psychosocial health status of the child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.

Assesses and evaluates patient condition peri-operatively and communicates to physician and anesthesia personnel any changes in patient status.

Accurately documents care, positioning, equipment safety measures and supplies provided to the patient.

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Minimum of 2 years' experience in PACU or ICU

Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.

Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state
