Facilities Maintenance (Handyman) - Full Time

OUC - TheReliableOne , an industry leader and the second largest municipal utility in Florida committed to serving the community and the environment, is presently seekinga Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the Financial & Support Services division.

We are looking for a knowledgeable, self- starter to perform preventative and maintenance repairs for OUC facilities and properties including, but not limited to, painting, drywall and wallpaper repair, door lock systems, plumbing and irrigation repair, minor electrical repairs, knowledge of HVAC systems, alarm systems, elevator operation, and landscaping.

Must possess a Florida Class A Commercial Driver’s License or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire

Minimum of three (3) years of facilities maintenance experience

Paid Conference and Training Opportunities

Salary Range: Starting at $27.684 per hour (Estimated $57,582 annually) with a structured step progression system and performance-based pay increases every 6 months up to $37.365 (Estimated $77,719 annually)

Perform routine preventative and maintenance repairs for OUC facilities and properties including, but not limited to, painting, drywall and wallpaper repair, door lock systems, plumbing and irrigation repair, electrical repairs, plumbing, knowledge of HVAC systems, fire alarm systems, elevator operation, minor carpentry and landscaping.

Perform preventative maintenance activities.

Oversee contractors on site.

Perform routine general building repairs including:

Electrical

Painting

Caulking

Drywall repair

Furniture moving

Knowledge of all facets of building/facility maintenance

Electrical or skilled carpentry knowledge may be preferred depending on the area of assignment

Interact with customers and co-workers effectively and provide a high level of customer service and satisfaction.

Learn buildings’ alarm systems and elevator operation.

Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.).

Work well with team members and all levels of supervision.

Utilize tools and equipment safely and effectively.

High School Diploma or GED

This job requires willingness to work extended hours when required including nights, weekends, and holidays. This job rarely may be subject to working in extreme weather, and/or around noxious fumes, chemicals, and insects.

This job includes very frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending/stooping, climbing, speaking & hearing (English). This job involves frequent pushing, pulling, and/or digging, reaching overhead, kneeling/crawling, detailed inspection/reading/editing, and writing.
