Registered Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Med Surg - Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Night Rotate Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting License: Active RN license (North Dakota or Compact) Certifications: Active BLS certification (AHA) Must-Have: 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting with 250+ beds. Experience in a busy level 1 trauma center is required. Willingness to float to all med-surg units/locations as needed. Travel experience is highly preferred. Description: Nurses care for medically complex hematology/oncology patients who require blood products, antibiotics, and symptom/side effect management. Nurses perform head-to-toe assessments and administer medications. Trained nurses may be assigned to administer chemotherapy. Equipment utilized includes EPIC, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, language line, and zebra phone. Preferred experience includes inpatient oncology, with hematology and bone marrow transplant experience as a bonus. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 for patients receiving chemotherapy or bone marrow transplant patients and 1:4-5 for regular oncology patients, with a night ratio of 1:4-6. Training consists of 8 hours of classroom instruction followed by 24-36 hours of unit-specific training. No call is required, and nurses will not work alone. Floating to other med-surg units within the facility may occur as needed.
