Restaurant Server (DAY SHIFTS ONLY)

Temporary Taverna Banfi Restaurant Server

The Statler Hotel at Cornell University offers temporary server opportunities to join our Taverna Banfi Restaurant Team for daytime weekday shifts. This role includes serving meals at the restaurant, assisting in the hotel room service department, and helping with set‑up and cleanup of the dining room. The position is temporary with the possibility to apply for a regular role when available.

Pay: $10 - $12.90 per hour plus tips. The hourly rate is based on employment status and experience.

Serve meals to guests in Taverna Banfi Restaurant according to established rules of etiquette and service.

Suggest courses and responsible serve alcoholic beverages.

Answer questions about food preparation and content; Take cocktail and food orders using electronic sales device and enter orders.

Make cocktails and specialty coffees, serving the items to the guest.

Work in room service a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 2 shifts per week.

Take food and beverage orders over the phone and quote delivery time to the guest.

Serve any DEO’s that may exist for that service period, including the Faculty Lounge DEO.

Support the restaurant by working on side work, expediting food orders for breakfast, and delivering food to guests as needed during the shift.

Basic reading and writing skills required.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

Must adhere to the dress code and appearance policy of the hotel.
