Head of Engineering and Project Management

The Project Manager III manages, plans and coordinates the full life-cycle of projects for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), specifically for the Office of Food Policy and Response (OFPR). Conduct timely follow‑up to ensure actions are addressed.Tracks project progress, document milestones, and update timelines for assigned deliverables.Keeps the Office Director, Deputy Director, and Senior Leadership informed of project status, risks, and potential obstacles.Provides updates on working group activities and ensure reports and deliverables are submitted by required deadlines.Conducts requirements gathering, develops project charters, WBS, schedules, and timelines.Applies project management best practices and federal regulatory standards.Drives process improvements and implements best‑in‑class planning, scheduling, and budgeting practices.Produces high‑quality reports, documentation, and presentations.Utilizes Microsoft Office and project management tools effectively.Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.Works independently and in a highly collaborative team environment.Perform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree preferred and a minimum of seven (7) years relevant project management experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWork is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
