Medical Lab Technologist

Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, and reporting, maintaining comprehensive records of patient test results.

Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested consistently with patient specimens and analyze specimens using approved testing methods per department SOPs.

Maintain and document quality control activities, instrument calibrations, and equipment maintenance.

Identify, troubleshoot, and correct test performance issues; document corrective actions taken.

Follow procedures for reporting STAT or critical test results to clients and respond to inquiries from laboratory personnel or clients when needed.

Participate in training on new laboratory procedures and attend department meetings and safety training sessions.

Assist with government or regulatory inspections when required and ensure compliance with safety and laboratory protocols.

Solid understanding of basic laboratory testing and procedures for high-complexity testing.

Proficiency with computer systems and familiarity with QC and QA practices in a laboratory setting.

BS in Medical Technology is preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology; or an Associates degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.

Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience in high-complexity testing preferred, especially chemistry experience.
