Software Engineer IIThe BMC2 Capabilities engineering organization is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our software development team located onsite in St. Petersburg, FL.Our teams develop software in a variety of languages, primarily C++. Candidates can expect to work on many—if not all—of the phases of the software development life cycle. In this position, you will be responsible for providing practical solutions to difficult technical software problems. Software Engineering positions include working on a variety of different tasks including real-time software development, application software development, test and verification, data analysis, software tools development, and many others. Teams are organized using Agile scrum methodology.What You Will DoParticipate in the requirements, design, development and testing of embedded software, including application, middleware, operating system and supporting tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.Participate in internal review of software components and systems.Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower-level professionals.Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.Operate in a collaborative, SAFe agile environment.Qualifications You Must HaveMaster's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) obtained prior to startQualifications We PreferExperience developing software in a team-based development environment, preferablyAgile/SCRUM, DevSecOps and test automation.Experience in prior leadership roles such as a Scrum Master, Product Owner or equivalent.Experience working with large, complex software systems and refactoring legacy code.Experience writing software for and debugging issues in real-time multithreaded software applications.Experience with C/C++ and Object-oriented software designWhat We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
