Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in an 18-bed Intermediate Care Unit, including post-ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, sepsis, cardiac, and respiratory cases
Perform ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care utilizing the nursing processmanage and monitor vasopressors, titratable drips, arterial lines, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach management
Read and interpret ECG/telemetry rhythm strips and monitor patients requiring moderate-to-intensive nursing vigilance
Coordinate care across a collaborative, multidisciplinary, patient-centered team to achieve individualized patient outcomes
Float to other units as needed within competency level; availability to work weekends, holidays, and one additional shift per 4-week scheduling period is required
Required Qualifications
Active Nevada Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to start
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of IMC/Stepdown experience required
Demonstrated experience with vasopressors, titratable drips, arterial lines, neuro-stepdown patients, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach management
Must successfully pass an ECG/Telemetry exam (rhythm strip interpretation) prior to assignment; failure results in contract termination
Availability to work 2 of 3 major holidays per contract period
Preferred Experience / Skills
Medical/Neuro ICU experience preferred
Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced Level II Trauma Center or equivalent acuity environment
