Weekend Groundskeeper

Supports the Grounds Department in the installation and maintenance of the University grounds by operating various trucks, commercial type riding mowers, push mowers, leaf vacs, farm tractors with attachments, rototillers, chainsaws, weed eaters, small power and hand tools. Performs daily routine maintenance such as checking oil and fluid levels, inspecting belts, sharpening blades, replacing blades, and making minor repairs. General/manual labor related experience.

Must have the ability to safely operate commercial type mowers, tractors, and power tools; perform preventative maintenance on equipment; May be required to work additional hours/shifts to meet the needs of the department.

May be required to alter shifts/hours to provide coverage for weekend events. Two weeks advance notice of a shift change will be provided if at all possible but is not guaranteed.

Previous experience in grounds care in an institutional or commercial setting.

Experience using commercial riding mowers, tractors, small power and hand tools.
