Job Description:

• Shift: 12 Hour Days
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks
• Holidays: Based on unit coverage

Unit Notes:

• Pre-Screening: Medical Solutions conducts pre-screens; if clinical recommends, it goes to manager for offer approval, no second interview.
• Certification Required: Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam prior to contract submission. Two attempts allowed; failure results in a 6-month DNU with CS AZ and Sacramento.
• Location Policy: 50-mile radius rule; no local rate applies.
• Vehicle Requirement: Travel teams must have their own vehicles.
• Appearance: Must have natural hair color, no facial piercings, men must be clean-shaven.

Patient Care Expectations:

• Willing to work with M/S Tele patients; expected to handle 50% in non-ICU environments.
• Flexibility to float downtown to ICU when necessary.

SIMs Lab Requirements:

• Pass/Fail Day 1 SIMs Lab: Competence in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes required.
• Additional education on lifts, restraints, and wound care.

Unit Information:

• Unit: ICU/MOSU (Multi-Operational Service Unit)
• Number of Beds: 5 Beds
• Certifications: BLS & ACLS required
• Ratios: 1:2 for ICU patients, 1:3 for Med-Surg patients, flexing to 1:4 for tele.
• EMR System: Cerner

Key Roles:

• Charge Nurse oversees both Med-Surg and ICU/MOSU, taking a light patient load based on census.
• One nurse aide per shift shared with Med-Surg unit.
• Scrub Color: Navy

Key Skills Required:

• Proficiency with vasoactive drips and EKG interpretation.
• Must be capable of working independently, as you may be the sole RN on the unit.

Patient Types & Common Diagnoses:

• Critical Care Procedures: Bronchoscopies, central line insertions, intubations, etc.
• Transfer Criteria: Neuro, cardiac, pulmonary, and renal patients may be transferred to higher acuity care.

Requirements:

• Strong teamwork and positive attitude essential; no pass culture.
• Excellent Medical and Surgical ICU experience required.

Cancellation Policy:
- Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment; 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
Contract Details:

• Guaranteed hours of 36 hours per week.
• Contract length of 91 weeks.
