Assess patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data, and evaluate patient's response and report to responsible provider to ensure optimal patient outcome.Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions including but not limited to vital signs, mini treatments/procedures, prevention services, previsit planning and postvisit follow up, medication refills per protocol for existing treatment plans and ensures patient flow through the clinic is efficient.Contributes to the development and implementation of patient plan of care and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; determine presence/absence of barriers to active participation in the individualized care plan and ability to selfmanage their health conditions, with the purpose of planning patient care and care coordination.Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family, health literacy, barriers to learning readiness, needs, and ability, then provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching; Encourage patient engagement in the healthcare partnership through the use of motivational interviewing, evidencebased selfmanagement support protocols, tools, and teachback methodology.Precepts and mentors new staff or medical assistant students as needed.Required:High School Diploma/G.BLS through American Heart AssociationNationally Certified as a Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant by one of the following: AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCCTSuccessful completion of all Medical Assistant Core Skills, as well as additional competencies which are specialty specific, as defined within the Scope of Practice for Medical AssistantsPreferred:Completion of Medical Assisting Program/Trade/Technical SchoolCompletion of EMT Program/Trade/Technical SchoolSchedule: As a PRN team member, you would receive the PRN shift differential in addition to your hourly rate.Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)Where You'll WorkAt Longmont United Hospital, we treat the entire patient to leverage the powerful connection of body, mind, and spirit in the healing process.
