Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWarehouse Operator – Receiving & DistributionPay: $20.00/hourLocation: North Chicago, ILSchedule Options:4-day schedule: 8:00 AM–6:30 PM5-day schedule: 10:00 AM–6:30 PMExperience: 2+ years of warehouse experience requiredEducation: High School Diploma or Equivalent RequiredInterview: In-person interview on October 9, 2026, between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PMJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and dependable Warehouse Operator to support receiving, order fulfillment, packing, and dock operations in a quality-controlled material environment in North Chicago, IL.The Warehouse Operator will perform a variety of warehouse duties including counting, sorting, recording, receiving, picking, packing, and processing large and heavy-weight inventory. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of strong work history, is safety-focused and detail-oriented, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.Forklift and powered industrial equipment experience is a plus. Important: New hires must successfully complete Abbott's forklift training before operating powered equipment. This training process may take 6+ months, so candidates should understand that prior forklift experience does not allow immediate equipment operation.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform daily warehouse operations in receiving, shipping, order fulfillment, and dock processing areas.Receive and process incoming materials and inventory on the receiving dock.Pick customer or production orders accurately according to established procedures.Pack orders and prepare materials for shipment or further processing.Count, sort, identify, and record large and heavy-weight stock accurately.Assist with dock processing and movement of materials throughout the warehouse.Maintain accurate inventory and material records.Follow established procedures for handling materials in a quality-controlled environment.Inspect and verify materials as required during receiving and order fulfillment activities.Safely handle and move heavy materials using appropriate equipment and procedures.Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse and dock area.Follow all applicable safety procedures, PPE requirements, and material-handling guidelines.Demonstrate attention to detail when counting, recording, picking, and packing materials.Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Support additional warehouse activities as needed to meet operational goals.Forklift & Powered EquipmentForklift or powered industrial equipment experience is preferred but not required for immediate equipment operation.Experience with the following equipment is a plus:Stand-up forkliftsCherry pickersOrder pickersPacer/Dock StockerTurret trucksEquipment used for working at heightsImportant Forklift Training Requirement: All new hires must complete the required Abbott forklift training before they are permitted to operate powered equipment. The training and qualification process may take 6 months or longer.
