Armed Security Officer
Salary Range $20.18 - $20.18 Hourly Position Type Full-Time/Part-Time Job Shift Any
As an Armed Security Guard, you will be responsible for protecting people, property, and assets while maintaining a visible armed security presence within a government, corporate, retail, or commercial environment. This role requires strict adherence to post orders, use-of-force policies, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Armed officers are expected to exercise sound judgment, maintain situational awareness, and respond appropriately to security threats, emergencies, and criminal activity. Responsibilities include conducting armed patrols, monitoring surveillance and alarm systems, controlling access points, deterring criminal behavior, and preparing detailed incident reports.
In addition to security enforcement, this role supports SSC's G.Principles — Greet, Engage, and Thank, ensuring professionalism and positive engagement with customers, visitors, and associates while maintaining authority and control.
Conduct armed security patrols on foot or by vehicle, as assigned
Maintain lawful possession and safe handling of assigned firearm at all times
Monitor CCTV, alarms, and access control systems
Respond to emergencies and critical incidents in accordance with use-of-force policy
Customer Service & Engagement (G.Greet customers, guests, tenants, and associates in a professional, respectful manner
Provide directions and general site information without compromising security
Address concerns or complaints professionally and escalate to management when required
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Pass and possess a State Licensed Armed Security Guard Card / License if required by your State / City / Locality
Graduate of an accredited high school or a Certificate of Completion of General Education Development requirements; Experience of 1 year as a security officer strongly preferred
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
take initiative with minimal supervision
Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
