The Tribal Police Officer patrols the community, responds to complaints, enforces laws, makes arrests, serves warrants and subpoenas, and testifies in court, all while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the Tribal community. Responds to calls, complaints, and emergency situations
Serves warrants and civil process
Testifies in Tribal, State, and Federal court
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Two (2) years of employment experience as a certified police officer required.
Must possess an Alabama Peace Officer Commission certification for law enforcement.
Must obtain BIA Special Law Enforcement Commission (S.L.Must maintain the ability to testify in Tribal, Federal, and State Court (no Giglio restrictions permitted).
Must meet approved age, mental, physical, and medical requirements set forth by the Alabama Police Officers Standards and Training Commission and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed.
Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events.
Builds effective relationships with law enforcement agencies
Capable of making arrests and using department-issued equipment
Follows policies and completes assignments effectively
