Locum Tenens Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Idaho Falls, ID - 24-week locum tenens opportunity for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery. Join a leading medical center delivering high-quality adult cardiothoracic care.

We are seeking an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon (cardiac surgeon / thoracic surgeon / vascular surgeon) for a locum tenens assignment at a major medical center in Idaho Falls, ID. This role offers hands‑on operative work, multidisciplinary collaboration, and the chance to impact critical cardiac and thoracic cases while enjoying Idaho Falls' strong quality of life.

Estimated Weekly Pay: $6,150 - $7,280

Shifts: 24‑hour call shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 AM)

Shift Duration: 12 Hour Days

Duration: Up to 24 weeks (locum tenens)

First‑assistant (NP/PA), two surgical techs, RN circulator, anesthesiologist, ICU and step‑down nursing staff

Current Idaho medical license and DEA/CSR required

American Board of Thoracic Surgery certification required

Competency in adult cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases

Minimum of 1 year of relevant post‑training experience (locum tenens and surgical jobs experience preferred)

Provide 24/7 call coverage for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery cases (locum tenens physician job)

Perform open heart surgeries, including CABG and aortic dissection repairs

Round daily on all inpatients and manage perioperative care

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—anesthesiology, ICU, step‑down, advanced practice providers, and surgical techs—to deliver high‑quality patient care

Accurately document all patient interactions and procedures in Meditech EMR
