Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Travel Nurse – Burlington, MA (Travel Contract) Travel RN – PCU nights in Burlington, MA: 8-week travel nursing contract near Boston. Join a dynamic Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float pool as a Registered Nurse (RN) on 12-hour nights, working with Epic EMR and critical care patients. Ideal for PCU and step-down RNs looking for travel nursing assignments in Massachusetts and Boston-area healthcare jobs.
Assignment Length: 8 weeks (travel contract)
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Shifts per Week: 3
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
Active RN license (must meet facility credentialing requirements)
Minimum 1 year recent PCU, step-down, or similar acute care experience
Epic EMR experience required (documentation and charting proficiency)
Competent to administer and titrate pressors and other critical care medications
Level 1 trauma experience preferred (required if no prior travel nursing experience)
Ability to pass day-one clinical testing (Relias practice tests available)
Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU/step-down patients; manage acuity typical of progressive care and float settings
Float to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units as needed (float RN responsibilities)
Float to different units in 4-hour blocks during shifts to meet clinical demand
Administer and titrate pressors and other critical medications safely per hospital protocols
Document all care accurately using Epic EMR and follow hospital documentation standards
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, case management, respiratory therapy) to optimize patient outcomes
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
