The unit provides comprehensive care for a variety of surgical and medical patients.Shift InformationShift: 07:00 AM - 07:00 PMUnit InformationLocation: Corpus Christi, TXNumber of Beds: 8 inpatient beds + 8 admission unit beds (flexible up to 12 depending on hospital census)Staffing: 10 staff membersDay Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 2 Registered Nurses, 1 Patient Care AssistantNight Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 2 Registered Nurses, 1 Patient Care AssistantPatient Ratios: Maximum of 6 patients per nurseType of Equipment: Standard EMR - MeditechIdeal Candidate ProfileWe are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:Required Skills: 1+ years of acute Med/Surg experience within the last yearAbility to manage a patient load of 4-6 patients at a timePreferred Skills: 2+ years of acute Med/Surg experience within the last yearBackground in orthopedic or neuro-surgeryExperience in Med/Surg/TelemetryTypical Procedures and DutiesThe Registered Nurse will perform the following standard nursing skills:IV insertionsUrinary catheter insertion and maintenanceCentral line maintenanceMedication administrationEffective communication with all members of the care teamDocumentation in the EHRPersonality FitThe ideal candidate will possess a friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused demeanor.Required CertificationsRegistered Nurse (RN) certification.Floating AreasThe candidate may be required to float to other Med/Surg units as needed.Dress CodeScrub color/attire - Provided scrubs.Work ScheduleWeekends will typically be rotated, however, travel Registered Nurses may be asked to work on an as-needed basis.Additional InformationNumber of Positions Available: 1
