Advanced Registered Nurse

Supervises nurse practitioners (NP or NPs) responsible for patient evaluation, testing, diagnosis, plans of care, and treatment within a clinical department or specialty practice area. Master's Degree required in a health care related field from an accredited program.
A minimum of 1 (compensatory with supervisor position) Year of related healthcare management or Nurse Practitioner III or Senior Physician Assistant experience and 5 (compensatory with supervisor position) years of APP clinical employment experience within the past 7 years in a healthcare setting or 5 (compensatory with supervisor position) years of recent CRNA or CNM experience in a highly matrixed healthcare organization.
Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise a team and to manage the complex workflow and competing priorities involved with providing quality care as an Advanced Practitioner.
Advanced experience in clinical specialty supervising APPs.
Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document staff issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.
In depth knowledge of patient care clinical standards, systems, external regulations and internal policies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare and present a variety of reports, documentation, analyses, and project proposals.
Working knowledge of human resources management practices and policies.
Demonstrated ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document APP performance.
Knowledge of business software, specialized applications and data management systems used in clinics / clinical departments.
UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
