Job: Mechanical Engineering Supervision

A licensed engineer will be expected to act independently regarding engineering methods and calculations, applying sound and diverse knowledge of engineering principles and practices in a broad array of assignments. At level 1, a licensed engineer is expected to plan and conduct work including evaluation, selection, and design of mechanical equipment and components. They are also expected to perform project management duties on small projects.

Familiar with the principles of engineering, knowledge of advanced math, physics, and mechanical science applicable to the field.

Undergrad Degree (4 years minimum) in Mechanical Engineering (other engineering degrees to be considered on a case‑by‑case basis).

Able to complete small and medium sized projects with minimal supervision.

Proficient with the tools required to achieve project completion (ie software, reference documents, calculations, and contacts).

Software Proficiencies

Proficient with Revit and/or AutoCAD.

Proficient with Load Calculation software, Trane Trace 700/3D

Proficient with PDF Editing software such as Adobe or Bluebeam.

Proficient with Newforma Project Center.

Capable of utilizing additional software as needed to perform complex calculations.

Microsoft Office Suite

Zoom/Teams/Video Conferencing Software

Be flexible, adaptable, and open to new ideas

Be prompt to appointments and meetings out of the office as well as in‑house

Inform studio leader of PTO, or unexpected time away from the office and record in studio PTO Calendar

Participate in meetings, trainings, and activities such as project team and committee meetings, all‑office meetings (such as the Monthly Harriman Huddle), and studio‑specific meetings.
