Safta’s Table, opening in early 2026, is a casual, all-day café located in Lakeview, New Orleans. Offering counter service, family-style meals to-go, and many of the comforting dishes guests have come to love from Safta and Saba, Safta’s Table is designed to feel like your grandmother’s kitchen: warm, familiar, and welcoming.

Celebrating approachable, soulful food and a relaxed experience, Safta’s Table will be a place where guests can stop in for a quick bite, pick up dinner to enjoy at home, or settle in for a casual meal with loved ones in a cozy, inviting space.

We show up reliably, communicate clearly, and bring passion to our craft. The Steward at Safta’s Table plays a key role in supporting both the cleanliness and flow of the kitchen and dining room. This position is responsible for dishwashing, basic janitorial work, trash and recycling duties, and light prep such as portioning ingredients. Stewards may also be assigned to support guest-facing areas when needed, including food running, bussing tables, beverage station restocking, or general cleaning in the dining room. Wash and sanitize all dishes, cookware, and kitchen tools following health and safety standards

Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dish area, floors, walls, and trash stations

Break down boxes and manage trash and recycling throughout the shift

Assist with portioning and basic prep work as directed by the kitchen team

Restock clean dishes, utensils, and equipment to appropriate stations

Rotate through other support roles as needed, including busser, runner, and beverage restocking

Follow proper safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment

Communicate any supply or equipment issues to leadership promptly

No experience necessary, a positive attitude and willingness to work hard are most important

Comfortable working both in the kitchen and guest-facing areas

Team player with a flexible, can-do attitude

Ability to work in hot, humid, or wet kitchen environments
