Commercial Loan OfficerGreenwood Credit Union has an opportunity for a mid-level professional interested in expanding their skillset to become part of our Commercial Lending team. This position reports directly to our Vice President of Commercial Lending and will work closely with other teams across the Credit Union.We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Lender to join our dynamic team. As a Commercial Loan Officer, you'll help businesses grow through thoughtful, relationship-driven lending.Benefits include PTO, healthcare (we pay the deductible), dental, vision, life, long term disability, 401(k) with a generous match and an on-site gym.Interviews applicants to determine loan requirements and gather pertinent information for loan applications.Requests applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks and other information pertinent to loan applicant's evaluation.Analyzes applicant's financial status, credit, and asset evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan, establishes credit limit through written and/or oral assessment.Resolves uncertainties relating to customer application information through inquiries with applicants or creditors.Structure loans within loan policy. Approves loan within specified limits or champions loan opportunities to the credit department and/or Commercial Lending Vice President for proper approval.Prepares financing proposals consistent with approval for presentation to the applicant.Position will require commercial loan origination and commercial deposit goals.Maintains a positive working relationship with customers, bank staff, local professionals, centers of influence, and community organizations.Participate in community and professional organizations and events.Underwrite and analyze credit and financial information to determine credit worthiness (as necessary)Communicate loan decisions, terms, and conditions to clients and ensure loan documentation is in compliance with company policies and proceduresStay up-to-date on market trends and competitive landscape to identify new business opportunities and provide creative financing solutionsProvide excellent customer service and build long-term relationships with clientsMaintain and apply knowledge of current lending policies, procedures, and regulationQualifications:Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 5 years' prior experience in a commercial lending environment.General knowledge/background of loan and legal documentation; familiarity with commercial and SBA loan documents is a plus.Strong interpersonal and written communication, customer service and relationship management skills.Ability to evaluate and analyze complex financial statements and tax returnsStrong customer service skills and ability to build relationships with clientsKnowledge of regulatory compliance and lending policies and proceduresAt least 5 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or related fieldStrong understanding of credit and financial analysisExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlinesFluent in English; Bilingual a plusDemonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel and internet navigationSelf-motivated and capable of working efficiently and with accuracy in a dynamic, high-volume environment with established productivity goalsDeveloped organizational and time management skillsDependability and flexibility with work hours and work assignmentsAbility to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week and overtime, as neededCommitment to team environment, member confidentiality and outstanding member serviceHigh degree of professionalism with positive and professional image and demeanorConsent to conduct pre and active employment background screeningsGreenwood Credit Union is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and therefore provides equal employment and advancement opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, gender, pregnancy/childbirth, age, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability or perceived disability, genetic information, citizenship, veteran or military status, marital or domestic partner status, or any other category protected by federal, state and/or local laws.
