Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an opening for a Manager, Systems Engineering 1. We are looking for you to join our team as a Manager, Systems Engineering 1 based out of Orlando, FL. The successful candidate will be exceptionally meticulous, collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & personal responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of seeking the best performance from everyone.The Manager, Systems Engineering 1 will:Lead a team of systems and software engineers performing direct work on multiple programsDemonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skillsUse good judgement to pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work closely with program-assigned systems engineering, software development, and management professionals to ensure that the software lifecycle is accomplished with high quality and efficiencyOversee and manage the quality and timeliness of the organization’s products, and identification and remediation of potential issues before they become problemsDevelop and manage detailed budgets and schedules and create work assignments for indirect taskingThe successful candidate will have a current full-time Program assignment; with a subset of the time allocated to Functional Manager duties, which fluctuate throughout the year due to business needs and the performance management cycle.Basic Qualifications:Bachelors of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or other STEM discipline, and 5 years of related technical experience; Master’s degree in a STEM field and 3 years of related technical experience, or PHD in a STEM field and 1 years of related technical experienceActive DoD Secret ClearanceAbility collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and other stakeholdersA comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the Systems Engineering VDemonstrated experience with requirements analysis, development and managementProficiency with at least one of the following:Understanding of software development methodologiesProficiency with both DOORS and CameoDemonstrated MBSE ExperienceProven interaction in a distributed team environmentPrior experience in engineering functional management is a plusProven leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skillsDemonstrate exemplary professionalism and ability to maintain composure in stressful situationsDemonstrate strong team-building/collaboration skillsDemonstrated ability to build diverse/inclusive teams with engaged team membersDemonstrated mentoring and coaching skills, and excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)Previous experience leading a team of 5-12 employees with a record of on-time performanceTime management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilitiesPrior experience with using Atlassian tool suitePrimary Level Salary Range: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
