Shift Length: 8 hour shift
Union Contract: SEIU-4-United Service Workers-SUH
Weekend Rotation: 8-hour evening shifts Café grill shifts from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Patient tray-line cooking shifts from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM
Every other weekend rotation
Job Description Responsible for the preparation of all food served to patients, staff and customers. Uses proper cooking, cooling and reheating techniques to ensure food safety.
Principle Responsibilities Prepares food in a timely, appealing and appetizing manner.
Prepares food using standardized recipes and proper cooking methods for patients, staff and special functions.
Adequate quantities of food are prepared based on patient need and cafeteria volumes.
Uses proper cooking, cooling and reheating techniques to ensure food safety.
Checks temperatures regularly prior to serving food.
Labels, dates, covers and store food properly.
Utilizes sanitizing techniques for food, self and equipment.
May operate cash register.
May maintain adequate food stock to meet the menu requirements and patient requests.
Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED
Associate's or Vocational degree in the culinary field
0 to 2 years of food service experience
Licenses/Certifications Certification for Food Safety and Handling upon hire preferred
Pay Range Pay Range: $22.49 to $29.25 per hour The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
