Sub Teacher for High School

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. The Substitute Teacher provides a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment for students when the regular classroom teacher is absent. The substitute teacher follows the lesson plans and classroom procedures provided by the teacher, maintains appropriate classroom management, and supports the Catholic mission and values of the school.

Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the regular classroom teacher.

Provide instruction and supervision appropriate to the students’ age and grade level.

Monitor student behavior and enforce classroom and school policies consistently.

Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, assemblies, and other assigned activities.

Communicate relevant classroom information or concerns to the regular teacher and/or school administration.

Support the school's Catholic identity by modeling Christian values, respect, kindness, integrity, and service.

Participate in prayer and other school activities as appropriate.

Perform other duties assigned by the principal or school administration.

High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or teaching experience preferred.

Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.

Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.

Practicing Catholic preferred, depending on school and diocesan requirements.

Must successfully complete required background checks, safeguarding training, and other diocesan/school requirements.
