Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) — Acute Care Hospital

Shift: 07:00–19:00

Current RN license and active BLS and ACLS certifications

• Open heart and vascular surgery experience required (CABG, valve procedures, carotid endarterectomy, ECMO preferred)
• Familiarity with perioperative nursing workflows and sterile technique
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation (approximately 4–5 days/month) and one weekend per month

Provide perioperative nursing care in a busy CVOR, supporting cardiac and vascular surgical cases

• Prepare the OR, assist the surgical team during procedures (e.g., CABG, valve replacement, carotid endarterectomy, ECMO, vascular bypasses) and ensure instrument/staff coordination
• Manage patient monitoring and 1:1 patient care intraoperatively and during transitions of care
• Document care and communicate with multidisciplinary team using Meditech EMR
• Adhere to unit policies, maintain sterile field standards, and support fast-paced case flow
• Participate in assigned on-call schedule and be available for required weekend coverage

• This 13-week travel RN assignment places an experienced perioperative nurse in the cardiovascular operating room in Webster, TX. The role is day shift (07:00–19:00), 36 hours per week, and involves care for complex cardiac and vascular surgical patients with a 1:1 patient ratio. The unit performs procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, carotid endarterectomy, ECMO, angiograms and vascular bypasses. Candidates must have strong OR skills and prior open heart/vascular experience, current RN licensure, BLS and ACLS.
