Employment Information

General Function

The Registered Nurse performs duties within the scope of practice defined by the Missouri Nurse Practice Act and the policies of Taylor Health and Wellness Center, focusing on enhancing patient education, reducing barriers, encouraging optimal wellness, assisting patients in fact‑based decisions, and serving as an informed consumer of health care services.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Provide nursing triage, counsel, and care for patients who are ill, injured, or experiencing changes in the normal health process by gathering and evaluating health history, vital signs, and performing nursing assessment.

Provide quality patient care by observing, monitoring, assessing, reporting, and recording patient concerns, conditions, and responses.

Evaluate, schedule, and determine appropriate administration of allergy injections, immunizations, tuberculin skin tests, and administer medications (PO, SQ, IM, IV, SL), nebulizer therapy, EKG, and other treatments as prescribed by a licensed provider.

Provide education about health care and illness prevention to patients and their families.

Coordinate and assist in delivery of a health care plan with all members of the health team.

Collaborate with Human Resources, Counseling Center, allied health services, and physician offices regarding pre‑employment health screening, drug screens, and patient well‑being.

Work effectively as a team member of the Magers Health and Wellness Center’s health care team, following the Center’s Infection Control policy and all Nursing policies and procedures, demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for patient rights and safety.

Maintain competence and current practice by self‑directed learning, professional development courses, and required training from the Nursing Coordinator.

Contribute to the overall success of the Magers Health and Wellness Center by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Supervision

The Registered Nurse is supervised by the Nursing Coordinator and functions under the direction of physicians, and may supervise other nursing staff.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Education: Nursing training required for registration as a Professional Registered Nurse in Missouri.

Experience: Two years of nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments with minimal supervision; effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Effort: Ability to lift 15–25 pounds and endure extended periods of standing daily.

License: Actively licensed as a Registered Nurse in Missouri.
