Associate Attorney - Compliance

LHH is assisting an AmLaw 150 firm in its search for an Associate Attorney (ERISA/Employee Benefits) to join its practice group in Minneapolis.
The Opportunity
Advise clients on a broad range of employee benefits and ERISA matters
Provide compliance counseling for qualified retirement plans, including multiemployer and defined benefit plans
Counsel clients on health and welfare plan compliance, including Affordable Care Act issues and controversies
Draft and review employee benefits documentation and related agreements
Support employee benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions transactions
Handle benefits-related matters involving the Department of Labor and IRS
Work on executive compensation arrangements and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs)
Can sit in Minneapolis or Pittsburgh
Ideal Background
3+ years of ERISA and employee benefits experience
Experience with compliance counseling, drafting, and benefits-related transactional work
Knowledge of qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans
Experience with Affordable Care Act compliance and controversy matters
Executive compensation and/or ESOP experience preferred
Benefits controversy experience before the Department of Labor and IRS is a plus
Excellent academic credentials
Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills
Must be admitted to practice in Minnesota or Pennsylvania
