Private Family in McLean, VA Seeking a Temporary Full-Time Nanny

Position: Full-Time Live-Out Temporary Nanny

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM (40 hours per week). Saturday availability is a plus, but not required.

Salary: $35–$40 per hour, depending on experience

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: Mid-October 2026

Relocation: No – local candidates preferred, but live-in available if candidate is interested.

Responsibilities

Provide attentive, engaging care for a 5-year-old child

Plan fun, age-appropriate activities, crafts, games, and educational play

Encourage learning through creative and interactive experiences

Read books and promote language development

Supervise indoor and outdoor play while ensuring the child's safety at all times

Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the child

Keep the child's bedroom, playroom, and belongings neat and organized

Handle all child-related laundry as needed

Maintain a consistent daily routine while remaining flexible to the family's needs

Communicate regularly with the parents regarding the child's day and activities

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The ideal candidate is warm, energetic, and naturally engaging with young children. The family is looking for someone who is playful, creative, and able to form a genuine connection with their daughter. A positive attitude, patience, and the ability to keep up with an active 5-year-old are essential.

A native English speaker is preferred to support language development and communication. The family values someone who is dependable, professional, and enjoys creating a fun and enriching environment.

Requirements

Prior experience caring for preschool-aged children in a private household

Excellent references

Legal to work in the United States

Native English speaker preferred

CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)

Energetic, engaging, and creative personality

Ability to commit to the position through mid-October 2026

Saturday availability is a plus, but not required

Driving is not required
