We are Achievement House! We are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. We have been serving Individuals with Developmental Disabilities in San Luis Obispo County since 1957, when we first introduced our Vocational Training Program.
NOW OFFERING: $250 SIGN-ON BONUS!
At Achievement House, our Community Living and Social Recreation Instructors assist with independent living and social skills for community independence.
Encourage and instruct clients in the development of self-advocacy skills and financial management.
Assist individuals in enhancing their interaction and social skills within the community.
Provide training as indicated on the Individual Service Plan (ISP) to ensure acquisition, retention, and improvement of adaptive skills and behaviors.
Must provide on-going proof of current state required auto insurance and drivers license. Must clear fingerprints through the California Department of Justice and the FBI.
Basic computer skills.
Education / Experience:
A high school education or equivalent is required.
Previous experience working with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities is preferred, but not required.
Bi-lingual preferred, but not required.
The ability to work with minimal supervision.
Reading, writing, basic math and computer skills.
The ability to motivate others and provide instruction and support to adults with disabilities!
Flexible with work schedules and willing to help cover different sites as needed. Must be able to cover weekends and evenings.
